ABOUT THE AUTHOR – PHILIPPA SPORK

Philippa Spork is an author, mentor and speaker specialising in Social Content Marketing for small to medium businesses. She is a 2015 B&T Women in Media Digital Finalist with more than twenty years experience working with global and local brands to create marketing solutions to drive sales.

2014 for Philippa Spork was about stepping outside of a comfort zone. After 20 years in traditional media working for PBL Media and Seven West Media, she left the nest in 2012 and went out on her own as a Consultant; mainly to be able to better juggle her 3 busy children with her career, but also to see what else was in store.

In 2014, she was earning more than she ever had before, had flexibility she had only ever dreamed of, but had no solid business plan. She employed a business coach to help and the advice was not what she expected; her coach told her to put herself out there and share her knowledge with the rest of the world – and that what was in her head was of huge value to small to medium businesses who were looking for help to navigate the ever-changing landscape of digital content marketing. These are the businesses of the future; that need help getting out of the start-up gates to thrive.

In September 2014, Philippa put pen to paper to write a book called Rules of Social Engagement, but it wasn’t to be just an ordinary book. It had to give these businesses the tools, knowledge and confidence to create their own digital content themselves; after all, nobody knows their customers and their businesses like they do.

So it was a program; Rules of Social Engagement – consisting of two phases: F.A.M.E.D. and S.T.A.R. – each letter is a step and each step has an editable template to populate for their business.

FAMED is the strategic planning and calendar creation phase of the content management program – in 5 steps

STAR is the executional phase of the content management program, and it’s about what to say, where to say it and how to say it.

Then to accompany the 30,000 word ebook (and book), she converted the program into an easy to navigate 2-Phase e-learning program (sold separately or as a package) that users can do at their own pace. Next step is a mentor program; available worldwide to support businesses throughout the year or for as much or as little as they need. (The book is in typesetting and launches officially on Aug 5 at a Brisbane event).

Philippa has also created a diagnostic tool housed on her website that allows users to go and evaluate the content readiness of their business via her ContentReadyTest – which has its own url www.contentreadytest.com and produces results across three key areas; Branding, Planning and Knowledge and Resources and Tools, as well as an overall score.

From the scores, users can either finish, or buy the book, buy the book and e-course and/or set up a diagnostic session with Philippa either in person or via Skype to interrogate the results and map out a plan for success.
